I was introduced to this delicious Pakhtoon dish called Sobat Painda which is delivered by this place in G-10 Islamabad called Sobat Darbar and I absolutely loved it. (You can order yours from their page as well)
**Sobat or Painda is a dish made of desi chicken, served with chicken curry, pieces of chapati and salad.
If you like desi murgi and arabic and pushtoon style bread+gravy dishes, go for it
There is another page on Facebook called “Sobat Darbar Rwp Cantt” and it is owned by this guy who lives in Gulistan Colony near Ayub Park.
As G-10 was pretty far, I decided to go for this one near me. I called the guy, informed him of our salt tolerance, and placed the order.
The guy called earlier than the pickup time saying the order was ready so I went and picked it up. The Sobat is served in this Earthen Kadai type thing, as you can see in the picture.
Garnished with salad and and extra huge packet of gravy. The earthenware pot was covered in food wrap and newspaper for added protection.
The taste was as expected, as good as the one I had multiple times from G-10 and damage was mere PKR 1,500 (US$ 10) for 4 people serving.
